NTRA-Egypt to Select Local Firm for Digital TV Broadcasts Receivers by Q4

National Telecommunication Regulatory Authority (NTRA)will finalise selecting local firm for manufacturing digital TV broadcasts receivers by the last quarter of the current year.

CEO of NTRA Hisham Alyali said the bid of manufacturing digital TV broadcasts has offered at early of September, noting NTRA targets finalising the measures of the manufactured firm within the upcoming three months.

The country’s new investment plan in the current year is around EGP500 million as a first stage for broadcasts.

Egypt has signed an agreement with International Telecommunication Union (ITU) in order to use digital TV broadcast by 2015.
