Egypt Applies Protective Tariffs on Imported Steel Rebars for 200 Days – Minister

Egypt decided Tuesday to temporarily apply protective tariffs on imported steel rebars at a rate of 7.3% at a minimum of EGP 290 per ton for roughly 200 days.

According to Minister of Industry and Foreign Trade Mounir Fakhry Abdel Nour, the decision comes as a response to the demands of Egyptian steel producers to protect the local market from low-priced imported steel rebars.
