State-owned Egyptian Natural Gas Holding Company (EGAS) continues its talks with British Petroleum (BP) to buy 21 liquefied natural gas (LNG) cargoes, an official source from EGAS announced.
The EGAS source further stated that the talks concerned the technical and contractual procedures for bringing natural gas cargoes from BP into Egypt.
Egypt has signed several deals in past months to import natural gas, which powers most of its homes and factories.
The source referred that Egypt has recently signed two-year deals to buy 16 LNG cargoes from Swiss-based Vitol Group and American oil firm Noble Energy, effective as of next April.
