Egypt’s stocks closed higher Sunday with gains amounting to 1.59 billion Egyptian pounds (US$204 million).
The market capitalisation has reached 454.110 billion pounds during the closing session of Sunday.
Indices
Egypt’s benchmark index, EGX30 grew 0.75 percent to 7547.66 points.
The newly-launched EGX50 EWI index went up 1.15 percent to 1255.68 points.
EGX20 increased 1.17 percent to 7181.91 points.
In addition, the mid- and small-cap index EGX70 boosted 0.63 percent to 400.99 points. The price index EGX100 surged 0.44 percent to 856.17 points.
Turnovers high
On Sunday, the bourse’s trading volume has hit 264.062 million securities, with turnovers closed at 1.183 billion pounds, exchanged through 20,841 thousand transactions.
Also during the closing session, 179 listed securities have been traded in; 35 declined, 90 advanced; while 37 kept their previous levels.
Investors’ Activities
Arab and non-Arab investors were net sellers Sunday seizing 3.16 percent and 3.52 percent respectively of the total markets, with a net equity of 35.286 million pounds and 12.149 million pounds, respectively, excluding the deals.
On the contrary, Egyptian investors were net buyers capturing 91.32 percent of the total market, with a net equity of 47.435 million pounds, excluding the deals
