Egypt’s stock market edged higher Sunday with gains estimated at 1.9 billion Egyptian pounds (US$242million) on Egyptians and Arab buying appetites.
The market capitalisation has recorded 430.527 billion pounds during the closing session of Sunday.
Indices
Egypt’s benchmark index, EGX30 climbed 0.86 percent to 6837.42 points.
EGX50 EWI index has edged up 1.34 percent to 1155.75 points.
EGX20 jumped 1.64 percent to 6756.94 points.
In addition, the mid- and small-cap index EGX70 hiked 1.52 percent to 368.43 points. The price index, EGX100 grew 0.83 percent to 777.15 points.
Turnovers low
On Sunday, the bourse’s trading volume hit 287.332 million securities, with turnovers closed at EGP 739.196 million, exchanged through 20,465 thousand transactions.
Also during the closing session,155 listed securities have been traded in; 27 declined, 91 advanced; while 36 kept their previous levels.
Investors’ Activities
Local and Arab investors were net buyers on Sunday seizing 79.86 % and 9.11% respectively of the total markets, with a net equity of EGP 118.431 million and EGP 5.664 million, respectively, excluding the deals.
On the contrary, the Non-Arab investors were net sellers getting 11.03 % of the total market, with a net equity of EGP 124.095 million, excluding the deals.
