Egypt’s President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi has called the Ministry of Housing to carry out 145,000 units within 2016 as part of a social housing scheme for the youth. The implementation of the 145,000 units will cost 20 billion Egyptian pounds (US$2.55 billion).
The president made these remarks during his speech celebrating the National Youth Day at the Cairo Opera House on Saturday.
This project is to complement another national project in which 224,000 housing units are being built.
Meanwhile, Sisi unleashed a number of plans to empower Egypt’s youth and promised great financial and educational opportunities for them.
