Around 8,267 hotel rooms and touristic units have been inaugurated with investments estimated at 1.65 billion Egyptian pounds (US$185.8 million) during fiscal year 2015-16.
Speaking to Amwal Al Ghad Sunday, Head of Egyptian Tourism Development Authority (TDA), Serag El Din Saad stated that the number of inaugurated rooms is 1,528 while the number of the units is 6,739.
He added that the total volume of inaugurated capacities reached 3,168 rooms and 12,332 units during the last two years with investment cost estimated at 3.1 billion pounds.
The newly inaugurated rooms and units are divided upon Red Sea governorate, Sinai, and the Upper Egypt, the official clarified.
