Egypt’s state-run construction firm Hassan Allam says it is executing a number of piers in East Port Said region, near the Suez Canal, at costs totalling 1.4 billion Egyptian pounds ($79.3 million).
Atef Barbary, Hassan Allam’s Managing Director for Financial Affairs, said Wednesday that the total lengths of the piers are 1,000 km.
“The company is implementing the piers in two phases,” Barbary noted.
Hassan Allam plans to double the accomplishment rates within the current period, the Egyptian official further stated, adding that the works will be delivered early 2018.
Barbary referred that there are four more construction firms that have been assigned with carrying out the piers projects in East Port Said, notably Arab Contractors.
