Economic circles in Cairo and Rome are in full alert awaiting Egyptian President Mohamed Morsi’ visit to Italy which will be on Tuesday September 11th. Morsi has chosen Italy to be his first official visit to the EU countries.
Exclusively to Amwal Al Ghad, it publishes the names of the businessmen and economic figures who will be the president’s escorts during his visit
Hatem Dowidar – the CEO of Vodafone Egypt is on the top of the businessmen delegation list.
The names’ list of the businessmen includes Eng. Khaled Abou Bakr, CEO of TAQA Arabia- Eng. Amr Helmy, Chairman of Amr Hemly Designs- Omar Mehana, Chairman of Suez Cement Company, and Yasser Gamali, MD and Deputy Chairman of Alex Bank.
The number of the businessmen who approved to participate in the economic delegation that will accompany President Morsi to Italy are 25 businessmen. This number may reach 30 in the coming period, pursuant to their business schedule.
The delegation which will visit Italy includes a large number of representatives from industrial, financial and technological sectors in Egypt. The aim of the visit is to attract Italian investments of about U$ 10 billion to Egypt.
The Minister of Planning and International Cooperation Dr. Ashraf Al Araby received Elizabeta Belloni, Director General for Development Cooperation of the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and her accompanying delegation and discussed the cooperation projects between both countries.
The meeting also discussed the anticipated visit of the Egyptian president Moahmed Morsi to Italy next month. Belloni highlighted the special relationship between both countries, affirming that Italy will continue its support to Egypt through establishing developmental projects in the country.
In Rome, the Italian Prime Minister Mario Monti appraised the visit of President Mohamed Morsi to his country; affirming that it has a good intent.
Monti, in his speech last Friday, said I and President Giorgio Napolitano will receive President Morsi on September 13th.
He added that Morsi’s visit, which came after China visit, has an intent; as it is the first visit to European or American country.
