Apple Inc. has paid a fine of 1.2 billion roubles ($13.65 million) to Russia, Reuters reported on Monday, citing the Russian antitrust agency.
The fine was concerning the policies of Apple’s App Store, including the mandatory use of its own payment system.
“Apple imposed on Russian iOS app developers the need to use the company’s payment tool in their apps,” FAS said in a statement.
“App Store rules prohibited iOS app developers from informing customers inside the app about the possibility of paying for purchases outside the App Store, as well as using alternative payment methods,” the news agency added.
