Arab investments in Egypt rise to $444.4 million at June-end: c.bank
Arab countries’ investments in Egypt rose by $127.6 million to $444.4 million in the March-June period, the central bank said on Wednesday.
Investments stood at $ 316.8 million at the end of March.
Qatar topped the amount of Arab investments in the Egyptian market, registering $136.6 million at the end of the fourth quarter of the 2018-2019 financial year, compared to $8.4 million in the third quarter that ended in March.
Ranked second, UAE’s investments in Egypt recorded $117.5 million at the end of June, compared to $181.8 million at the end of March.
Saudi Arabia came third with investments of $78.6 million at the end of June from $68 million at the end of March, followed by Kuwait having investments worth $69.1 million.
Egypt’s net foreign direct investment (FDI) reached $1.257 billion in the fourth quarter of the 2018/2019 financial year that ended on June 30, the central bank’s report showed.
