Arab, Muslim nations back Trump’s Gaza peace plan in joint statement
Foreign ministers from eight countries pledge to work with Washington on a deal to end the war, rebuild Gaza, and advance a two-state solution.
The foreign ministers of eight Arab and Islamic countries issued a joint statement late Monday welcoming President Donald Trump’s proposal to end the war in Gaza. They said they would “engage positively and constructively with the United States and the parties toward finalising the agreement and ensuring its implementation, in a manner that ensures peace, security, and stability for the peoples of the region.”
Top diplomats from Egypt, Jordan, the United Arab Emirates, Indonesia, Pakistan, Türkiye, Saudi Arabia, and Qatar praised Trump’s “sincere efforts” in seeking to end the war, rebuild Gaza, and prevent the displacement of Palestinians. They also noted his pledge not to allow the annexation of the West Bank.
The joint statement said the countries assert their confidence in Trump’s ability to find a path to peace.
The ministers reaffirmed their commitment to a two-state solution that would fully integrate Gaza with the West Bank under a Palestinian state, in accordance with international law. The declaration also stressed the need for unrestricted humanitarian access, the release of hostages, a complete Israeli withdrawal from Gaza and international support for reconstruction.
The unusual expression of collective support reflects both the urgency of the Gaza crisis and a calculated bet that Trump can deliver a breakthrough, with expectation that Washington could play a decisive role in shaping a potential settlement.
