Egypt’s Asfour Crystal, the world’s largest producer of full-lead crystals, recorded first half exports totalling 297.7 million Egyptian pounds ($416.331), the Chemicals and Fertilizers Export Council (CEC) announced.
According to CEC’s latest report on local glass exports for the first half of 2014, Al Alamia for Glass Manufacture was ranked second with total exports at value of 47.2 million Egyptian pounds.
Coming third, Misr Glass Manufacturing Company-MGM registered total exports during first half amounting to 42.04 million Egyptian pounds.
CityGlass Group came in the fourth position, with total exports worth 34.8 million Egyptian pounds. Fifthly, Middle East Glass Manufacturing Company (MEG) obtained total exports of 27.2 million Egyptian pounds.
Moreover, the report referred that UAE was the largest recipient of the Egyptian glass exports during first half, registering imports worth 100.9 million pounds. Hong Kong was the second largest recipient of the Egyptian glass exports, importing 66.1 million pounds. The Sudan managed to be the third largest recipient of 58.4 million pounds.
The report also revealed that Egypt’s H1 glass exports reached 670 million pounds, versus 736 million pounds for the same period last year.
