Asian markets briefing 12/05/2023

The majority of the Asian markets closed low on Friday with the Chinese main index, SSEC, falling by -1.12 percent. The index lost 37.19 points to close at 3,272.36. It recorded a day high value of 3,319.13 and a day low value of 3,271.43.

Nikkei 225, the Japanese main index, rose by 0.9 percent to 29,388.30 and gained 261.58 points. The index recorded a day high value of 29,426.06 and a day low value of 29,141.52.

HSI, Hong Kong’s main index, dropped by -0.59 percent to 19,627.24 after it lost 116.55 points. The index recorded a day high value of 19,853.37 and a day low value of 19,596.49.
