Bank of Russia sells currency worth RUB 7.1b
The Bank of Russia announced the sale of currency worth 7.1 billion rubles ($76.7 million) in the domestic market, with settlements on April 1, 2024, TASS reported on Tuesday.
This follows a similar transaction on March 29, where the volume of currency sold also amounted to 7.1 billion rubles.
These operations are part of the Bank of Russia’s new initiative, which involves the use of resources from the National Wealth Fund.
The regulator is actively participating in the currency market, buying and selling foreign exchange in the domestic market. This is being done through the currency section of the Moscow Exchange, utilising the yuan-ruble instrument.
