The value of outstanding balances of treasury bills witnessed a monthly decline of EGP 2.9 billion (0.7%), registering EGP 370.4 billion at the end of last July, down from EGP 373.3 billion at the end of last June.
According to the Central Bank of Egypt’s (CBE) latest report, banks’ investment in 91-day T-bills registered EGP 13.500 billion in July, compared to EGP 10 billion in June, with an increase of EGP 3.5 billion.
Banks’ investments in 182-day T-bills retreated by EGP 1.6 billion, registering EGP 82.4 billion at the end of last July, compared to EGP 84 billion at the end of last June.
Banks’ investments in 364-day T-bills rose to EGP 87.9 billion at the end of July, up from EGP 84.4 billion at the end of last June.
