BRICS for common e-payment platform

BRICS countries are considering the possibility of creating a multilateral digital settlement and payments platform, Russian news agency TASS, reported on Wednesday.

The digital payment platform will facilitate financial transactions between the BRICS member states and boost mutual trade turnover, the statement added.

The emphasis for co-operation among BRICS members includes increasing the use of national currencies in mutual settlements and creating equally accessible, independent financial infrastructure.

The Russian Finance Ministry also noted that the gradual integration of new BRICS member states into the financial tracks and strengthening cooperation at the expert level are crucial tasks for 2024.
