EGX closes red on Feb. 28

Egypt’s stock market (EGX) closed in the red on Wednesday. The main index, EGX30 dropped by 1.13 per cent, to 28,876.46 points.

The small to mid-size enterprises’ index, EGX70 declined by 3.36 per cent, to 7,289.29 points.

The index, EGX100 index fell by 3.04 per cent, to 10,216.82 points.

The total market cap reached 1,988,050,927,326 Egyptian pounds.

Egyptians and Arab transactions were mainly sellers with a total of 238,338,934 Egyptian pounds, and 127,499,858 Egyptian pounds, respectively. Meanwhile, the Non-Arab Foreigners were net buyers with 365,838,792 Egyptian pounds.

Top gainers on Wednesday

The shares of El Kahera El Watania Investment (KWIN.CA) rose by 18.68 per cent, to close at the price of 20.780 Egyptian pounds a share.

The shares of South Cairo & Giza Mills & Bakeries (SCFM.CA) climbed by 16.92 per cent, to trade at the price of 39.810 Egyptian pounds a share.

The shares of Alexandria Flour Mills (AFMC.CA) jumped by 13.85 per cent, to the purchasing price of 35.840 Egyptian pounds a share.

Top losers on Wednesday

The shares of Alexandria Containers and Goods (ALCN.CA) fell by 11.42 per cent, to close at 40.400 Egyptian pounds a share.

The shares of Six of October Development & Investment (SODIC) (OCDI.CA) declined by 10.79 per cent, to close at 49.090 Egyptian pounds a share.

The shares of Delta Sugar (SUGR.CA) dropped by 10.61 per cent, to close at the price of 59.000 Egyptian pounds a share.
