A British delegation of private sector firms is set to visit Egypt by next week to explore increasing investments in different sectors, British ambassador to Egypt John Casson said Monday.
70 percent of these companies are visiting Egypt for the first time, Casson further told Amwal Al Ghad on the sidelines of an Euromoney conference in Cairo.
They are operating in sectors of healthcare, infrastructure, and transport, he added.
The UK is the number one investor in Egypt, with investments in the first half of 2016/17 reaching $2.9 billion, according to an earlier statement by the British embassy in Cairo.
Over the past ten years, UK invested around $43 billion in Egypt, Casson said.
