Cairo Court Fines Mobinil EGP100.000

The Egyptian Economic Court imposed EGP100.000 fine on the Egyptian Company for Mobile Services Mobinil (EMOB) as it did not cooperate in providing the required data from the Egyptian Competition Authority (ECA).

There is a confusion between telecommunication firms and National Telecommunication Regulatory Authority (NTRA) that prevented the firms to provide all the data and questionnaires that requested by NTRA, Dr. Mona El Garf – Chairperson (ECA) said.

In an Exclusive statements, El Garf added that this is the first  judgment  concerning applying ECA’s Act22 regarding imposing a fine with who rejects to provide the Authority any required data.
