Canada’s Industry Minister, François-Philippe Champagne, announced on Monday the dedication of $265 million for green aviation.
He said that the fund will boost hybrid and alternative propulsion, aircraft systems, a transition to alternative fuels, and aircraft support infrastructure.
According to Champagne, it “will help drive and accelerate the green industrial transformation of Canada’s aerospace industry, generating high-value jobs while strengthening supply chains and supporting the transition to a net-zero economy,”
In October 2022, the UN aviation agency member set the year 2050 as their goal to achieve net-zero carbon emissions.
