China’s National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC) announced on Thursday an increase in retail prices for gasoline and diesel, effective from Friday, October 11.
Gasoline prices will rise by 140 yuans ($19.79) per ton, while diesel prices will increase by 135 yuans per ton. The NDRC attributed the price adjustments to recent fluctuations in international oil prices.
China’s top oil companies and refineries have been instructed to maintain oil production and ensure stable supplies. The NDRC’s price monitoring centre expects that international oil prices will continue to experience volatility in the short term.
