China unveils plan to build new electricity system

China has revealed a new action plan to develop a modern electricity system for green growth and energy security. The plan, released by key government agencies, outlines steps to be taken in nine fields from 2024 to 2027.

It focuses on increasing clean electricity transmission, upgrading coal power plants, and expanding electric vehicle charging infrastructure.

The plan also aims to ensure stable electricity system operation and enhance power distribution network development.
