China’s COSCO suspends shipping to Israel amid Houthi attacks
China’s state-owned and largest shipper COSCO suspended shipping to Israel, Reuters reported on Tuesday, citing Israeli financial news website Globes.
The report did not include details behind the decision; however, it came as shipping routes in the Red Sea are facing attacks carried out by the Houthis.
The company’s offices in Israel did not provide Reuters with a comment, and Israeli port officials said they were checking the report.
Since the beginning of the of Israeli attacks on Gaza, a number of countries cut off their economic ties with the occupation.
These include countries like Malaysia, which banned Israel’s ZIM from docking in its ports, and Jordan, which cut off all ties with Israel.
