CIB CEO self isolated for fear he has contacted coronavirus
The CEO of The Commercial International Bank (CIB), Hussein Abaza, has self-isolated following the death of a close family member from coronavirus (COVID-19).
Abaza will undergo the coronavirus test in accordance with the Egyptian Ministry of Health and Population’s protocols according to CIB.
The CIB added that Abaza has yet to show symptoms, and continues to execute all of the duties of his office from home.
He was already scheduled to work from home for the next two weeks as part of the bank’s coronavirus rotation policy for senior staff. He had accordingly made all arrangements necessary to carry out his duties remotely, and will hold meetings this week with staff and investors.
In the event that it becomes necessary, his duties will be taken up by other members of the leadership team under the Bank’s Business Continuity and Resilience plan.
