A free trade zone linking 26 countries in Africa shall encourage more foreign investors to seize available investment opportunities in the continent, the commercial attaché of the Ethiopian embassy in Cairo said Monday.
The Ethiopian official made his remarks during the Tripartite Summit of the East Africa Community (EAC), the Southern African Development Community (SADC) and the Common Market for Eastern and Southern Africa (COMESA) that held in Cairo today, May 4.
Africa enjoys multiple available opportunities but lacks sufficient money, the official added stressing the necessity of establishing a trade free zone encompassing 26 African countries to achieve a regional economic integration.
Moreover, the Ethiopian official clarified that relations between Cairo and Addis Ababa have witnessed significant improvement recently, notably after a number of Egyptian businessmen had pumped food and car spare parts investments into Ethiopia.
