FoodAfrica Exhibition opens first time in Cairo on May 6

Egypt’s Industry Minister Mounir FakhryAbdel Nour will inaugurate next Wednesday the International Trade Exhibition for Food and Beverages Serving Egypt and the African Markets “FoodAfrica”.

The African food market, which makes a US$3.3 billion business, is considered to be one of the most important markets in the world.

This is the first time Egypt hosts Food for Africa event.

The exhibition will take place at Cairo International Conference Centre (CICC) on May 6-9th, with participation of more than 200 companies.

The event is organized by Egypt’s Food Export Council amid expected presence of 25 African, Arab, and foreign countries including Saudi Arabia, UAE, Kuwait, Jordan, Tunisia, Ethiopia, Kenya, Uganda, Poland, Greece, India, and Russia.

Featuring an extensive four-day showcase that covers all the sectors of the food industry, the event will provide space not only for the presentation of quality food manufacturers from all over the world, but also a premier meeting place for the food and drinks industry and a vibrant source of products for the African market.

The exhibitors will get the chance to meet face to face with thousands of wholesalers, distributors, retailers and other industry professionals, and develop partnerships which will see their products stocked in shops and supermarkets all over Egypt, and the greater African market.

In this respect, Alaa ElBahy – Chairman of the Egyptian Food Export Council – said organising such events in Egypt aims at reviving the country’s food exports and opening more markets for the Egyptian food products.
