The total volume of deposits at banks operating in Egypt, aside from the central bank, have surged to 2.172 trillion Egyptian pounds ($122.1 billion) at the end of August.
Earlier in July, deposits stood at 2.138 trillion pounds.
Government deposits also hiked to 369.9 billion pounds, including 270.987 billion pounds in local currency and 98.941 billion pounds in foreign currencies, a central bank monthly bulletin showed on Tuesday.
Non-government deposits reached 1.803 trillion pounds, of which 1.471 trillion pounds in local currency and 331.988 billion pounds in foreign currencies, the bulletin added.
