Egypt’s domestic liquidity rose by 1.8 percent to around 2.044 trillion Egyptian pounds ($230.2 billion) by end of May, according to the central bank’s monthly bulletin released on Sunday.
“The increase in domestic liquidity was reflected in the growth of the money supply by around 12.8 billion pounds to reach 552.971 billion pounds by end of May from 540.172 billion pounds in April and the quasi-money by 24.86 billion to 1.491 billion pounds compared to 1.466 trillion in April.” the Central Bank of Egypt (CBE) said in its bulletin.
