A magnitude 4.8 earth quakeon the Richter scale struck a number of Egyptian governorates at 3:46 am according to the European-Mediterranean Seismological Centre (EMSC).
The epicenter of the earth quake was 8 k.m south of Nuwaybi’a Nuwaibi city on the Red Sea and it was felt in Cairo, Gizah and other governorates in Egypt, (EMSC) added.
The effects could apparently be felt as far as Jerusalem, some 37 kilometers from the Dead Sea resort of Ein Gedi.
on the other hand, a magnitude 4.5 earthquake on the Richter Scale struck the region of Tabuk at 4.46 am Mecca time, the Saudi Geological Survey said.
The tremor which lasted for a few seconds was felt by the inhabitants of Tabuk, Haql, Al-Bidaa, the centre of Bir Bin Hermas and the Aqaba Gulf region.
