During Wednesday opening session, the Egyptian Exchange (EGX) has posted early losses of EGP 69 million as the capital market has amounted to EGP 393.180 billion, according to data compiled by Amwal Al Ghad at 11:00 a.m. Cairo time (09:00 GMT).
EGX indices opened mixed.
The main index, EGX30 dropped by 0.27% to hit 5680.48 p. EGX20 fell by 0.38% to reach 6643.02 p.
Meanwhile, the mid- and small-cap index, the EGX70 inched higher by 0.25% to hit 537.42 pts. Price index EGX100 edged up by 0.10% to reach 880.12 p.
Traded volume reached 5.972 million securities worth EGP 19.055 million, exchanged through 1.149 thousand transactions.
This was after trading in 85 listed securities; 20 declined 32 advanced while 33 keeping their previous levels.
EGX30’s early dip was driven by Arabs’ selling pressures.
Arabs were net sellers seizing 12.03% of the total markets, with a net equity of EGP 1.422 million excluding the deals.
On the other hand, Egyptians and non-Arab Foreigners were net buyers seizing 82.75% and 5.22% respectively, of the total markets, with a net equity of EGP 1.261 million and EGP 161.476 thousand excluding the deals.
Leading Shares:
EGX’s leading shares witnessed unsteady performance.
Orascom Telecom Media & Technology Holding:
Orascom Telecom Media & Technology Holding (OTMT.CA)’s stock climbed by 1.67% to hit EGP 0.61.
Orascom Telecom Holding:
Orascom Telecom Holding (OTH) (ORTE.CA) went up by 0.55% to reach EGP 3.66.
EFG-Hermes:
EFG-Hermes Holding (HRHO.CA) rose by 0.08% to hit EGP 11.80.
Orascom Construction Industries:
Orascom Construction Industries – OCI (OCIC.CA)’s stock dipped by 0.08% to hit EGP 258.00.
Citadel Capital:
Citadel Capital (CCAP.CA)’s stock maintained with no change at EGP 4.05.
