Egypt’s stock exchange (EGX) closed mostly lower on Monday, with the main index, EGX30 going down by 0.67 per cent, to 28,411.87 points.
The Shariah index, EGX33 slid by 0.82 to 2,752.43 points.
Meanwhile, the small to mid-size enterprises’ index, EGX70 rose by 0.09 per cent, to 6,298.78 points.
The index, EGX100 index fell by 0.14 per cent, to 9,127.76 points.
The total market capitalisation reached 1,917,849,209,536 Egyptian pounds.
Arabs and non-Arab foreigners were net buyers with transactions worth 179,104,301 Egyptian pounds, and 85,102,970 Egyptian pounds, respectively. On the other hand, Egyptians were mainly sellers with 264,207,271 Egyptian pounds.
Top gainers on Monday
- The shares of TAQA Arabia (TAQA.CA) soared by 10.77 per cent, to close at the price of 13.680 Egyptian pounds a share.
- The shares of Electro Cable Egypt (ELEC.CA) climbed by 8.33 per cent, to trade at the price of 2.990 Egyptian pounds a share.
- The shares of Misr Cement (Qena) (MCQE.CA) jumped by 5.81 per cent, to the purchasing price of 16.950 Egyptian pounds a share.
Top losers on Monday
- The shares of Rights Issue Of Sinai Cement -2 (SCEM_r2.CA) dived by 84.85 per cent, to close at 0.010 Egyptian pounds a share.
- The shares of Golden Textiles & Clothes Wool (GTWL.CA) sank by 11.74 per cent, to close at 24.440 Egyptian pounds a share.
- The shares of Group for Industrial Commercial and Financial Investments (GMC) (GMCI.CA) plunged by 4.99 per cent, to close at the price of 1.105 Egyptian pounds a share.
