EGX, Ministry of Youth partner to boost sports investment, financial literacy
The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) and the Ministry of Youth and Sports signed on Monday a cooperation protocol to integrate sports with the economy and promote investment opportunities within the sports sector and financial literacy.
The agreement signed in the presence of Minister of Youth and Sports Ashraf Sobhi and EGX chairman Ahmed El Sheikh.
Minister Sobhi emphasised that the ministry’s strategy focuses on engaging youth in the economic system and enhancing their role in building an active society, aligning with Egypt’s Vision 2030 and President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi’s directives. He also outlined plans for further collaboration with the EGX through the Egyptian Federation of Sports Events, for a national project designed to increase youth participation in the economy and raise investment awareness.
Both Minister Sobhi and El Sheikh highlighted the importance of financial inclusion, with the minister stressing that empowering youth financially and socially is essential for building a sustainable future.
The protocol includes launching educational programmes for sports professionals and a national initiative called Stock Exchange for All, which aims to introduce financial literacy and investment opportunities to sports club members and youth centers. Additionally, the partners will promote saving and investing in the Egyptian Stock Exchange through practical and theoretical training in trading.
