Egypt allocates EGP 10bn in FY19/20 budget to cushion COVID-19 impact
Egypt has made an additional allocation of 10 billion Egyptian pounds ($618,410 million) in its budget for fiscal year 2019/2020 to limit the repercussions of the coronavirus (COVID-19), minister of planning Hala El-Saeed said.
The allocation will be used in disbursing the dues for contractors and companies, increasing liquidity, and paying salaries to employees, El-Saaed added
The Ministry of Higher Education, Ministry of Youth and Sports, Cairo Governorate, Ministry of Housing, and Ministry of Transportation have received additional allocations of 4 billion pounds, 1 billion pounds, 1.880 billion pounds, 2.5 billion pounds, 0.12 billion pounds respectively.
