Egypt back on IMF July calendar for loan review
The International Monetary Fund (IMF) has added Egypt back to its Executive Board meeting July calendar. This paves the way for discussions on releasing the third tranche of the loan programme, which amounts to around $820 million.
The IMF noted in its calendar that the Executive Board will discuss the third review under the extended arrangement under the Extended Fund Facility, as well as the monetary policy consultation clause. It will also tackle “requests for waivers of nonobservance of a performance criterion and applicability of performance criteria and request for modification of performance criteria.” the note added.
Earlier, an informed government source told reporters that Egypt still remains on the IMF July calendar for Executive Board meeting, to take place on July 29.
