The Central Bank of Egypt (CBE) announced that commercial banks will return to normal working hours on Monday – 8:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. (06:30 – 12:00 GMT) for clients and until 3:00 p.m. for employees.
CBE’s announcement coincides with the cairo metro chief’s decision to extend working hours until 9:00pm.
The interim cabinet announced on Saturday that the curfew imposed on 14 Egyptian governorates will be enforced from 9pm (instead of 7 p.m.) until 6am with the exception of Friday (7 p.m. – 6 a.m.).
This decision was announced after violence and protests on Egyptian streets waned despite the calls for massive protests by loyalists of former president Mohamed Morsi’s.
