Egypt Bourse Chief Says Investors are Optimistic about Egypt’s Future

Investors in the Egyptian stock market are optimistic about the country’s economic condition over the medium and long-term, Egyptian bourse chairman stated on Tuesday.

Dr. Mohamed Omran – Chairman of the Egyptian Exchange – said the investors’ ongoing buying trend is based on their future expectations of the Egyptian market, the state-run news agency MENA reported on Tuesday.

On the sidelines of the “Towards Achieving Comprehensive Growth in Egypt” Conference, Omran attributed EGX’s rally during Monday’s sessions to the investors’ optimism that the country’s roadmap is on the right track by virtue of holding the presidential and then parliamentary polls to resume rebuilding the state institutions.

In cooperation with Brookings Institution and Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), Faculty of Economy and Political Science of Cairo University is holding today the “Towards Achieving Comprehensive Growth in Egypt” Conference.  A number of economic policymakers in Egypt alongside local and international economists are attending the event today, notably Egyptian Planning Minister Ashraf Al-Araby and Agriculture Minister Ayman Farid Abu Hadid.
