Egypt bourse heading north

Egypt’s stock exchange (EGX) closed in the green area on Wednesday, with the main index, EGX30 rising by 0.80 per cent, to 29,567 points.

The Shariah index, EGX33 grew 0.84 per cent to 2,848.72 points. 

The small to mid-size enterprises’ index, EGX70 added 0.35 per cent, to 6,593.59 points.

The index, EGX100 index gained 0.69 per cent, to 9,522.65points.

The total market capitalisation recorded 2,025,076,997,271 Egyptian pounds.

Egyptians and Arabs were net sellers with a total transactions of 665,012,160 Egyptian pound, and 651,540,247 Egyptian pounds, respectively. Meanwhile, non-Arab foreigners were net buyers with 1,316,552,407 Egyptian pounds,.

Top gainers

  1. Shares of Sinai Cement (SCEM.CA) climbed by 19.94 per cent, to close at 15.160 Egyptian pound a share.
  2. Shares of Juhayna Food Industries (JUFO.CA) jumped by 19.44 per cent, to close at 25.310 Egyptian pound a share.
  3. Shares of Ismailia National Food Industries (INFI.CA) surged by 18.14 per cent, to close at the price of 65.900 Egyptian pound a share.

Top losers

  1. Shares of El Arabia for Land Reclamation (EALR.CA) declined by 9.48 per cent, to close at the price of 35.130 Egyptian pound a share.
  2. Shares of ELSWEDY ELECTRIC (SWDY.CA) fell by 6.19 per cent, to trade at the price of 59.700 Egyptian pound a share.
  3. Shares of Egypt for Poultry (EPCO.CA) dropped by 5.44 per cent, to the purchasing price of 4.000 Egyptian pounds a share.
