Egypt detects 1,557 new coronavirus cases, 81 deaths on Tuesday

Egypt detected 1,557 new coronavirus cases on Tuesday, bringing the total infection tally to 68,311 since the outbreak in mid-February, the health ministry has announced.

The ministry also reported 81 new deaths, bringing the total number of deaths from the virus to 2,953, according to Ahram online.

The statement said that 509 patients have been discharged after recovering from the virus, bringing the total number of recoveries to 18,460.
