Egypt will soon open the first rehabilitation and treatment centre for addiction in New Aswan City, president of Aswan University said on Saturday.
The centre was built in collaboration between the university and the Fund for Combating and Treating Addiction in the Ministry of Social Solidarity.
Chairman of the board of directors at the university, Mohamed Zaki Al-Dahshoury, said that the centre is equipped with the most recent technologies and treatments.
It holds 90 beds, a sports court, a theatre, and a lecture hall.
Egypt has five rehab centres across the country, in Port Said, Hurghada, Marsa Matruh, Minya, and the new centre in New Aswan City, he added.
