Egypt excludes 3 crops from exports ban on legumes
Egyptian ministry of industry and trade has decided to exempt green beans, peas, and peanuts from the export banning.
The ministry has later that week decided to extend exports ban on legumes for three months to fulfill local demand in light of the coronavirus pandemic.
The ministry added that there is currently increasing demand on food, and medical equipment and products.
Common edible legumes include lentils,peas,chickpeas,beans,soybeans,and peanuts. The most popular Egyptian legumes are broad beans,lentils and soybeans mainly used for local consumption,and exportation.
