Egypt eyes global markets for medical exports – Health Minister

Egypt’s Minister of Health Khaled Abdel Ghaffar discussed the national strategy for exporting locally-made medical products to global markets, focusing on developing a clear vision and implementation mechanisms with specific timelines, as per a Cabinet statement on Thursday.

He emphasised the government’s commitment to enhancing Egyptian exports, particularly in vital sectors such as pharmaceuticals and medical supplies.

Abdel Ghaffar called for collaboration between public and private sector entities to achieve these objectives, directing officials to identify and address challenges hindering export growth. He noted that Egypt possesses significant capabilities, including qualified human resources and modern infrastructure, enabling it to export medicines and medical supplies effectively.
