Egypt eyes stronger aviation partnerships with UK

Egypt’s Minister of Civil Aviation, Sameh El Hefny, met with senior delegations from Standard Chartered Bank, the UK Export Finance Agency (UNEF), and representatives from HSBC UK to strengthen partnerships and explore investment opportunities in Egypt’s civil aviation sector. The meetings came during his official visit to London as part of the Civil Aviation Business Mission to the UK on February 3-5, 2025, as reported by the Egyptian Cabinet.

The discussions focused on enhancing sustainable development in the aviation sector, with a particular emphasis on infrastructure upgrades, expanding airport capacity, and modernising Egypt’s fleet of aircraft.

Minister El Hefny highlighted the Egyptian government’s clear policies to support investment through strategic partnerships with international financial institutions, aiming to make Egypt a regional hub for air transport and boost its competitive edge globally.

The meetings are part of Egypt’s ongoing efforts to attract foreign investment and enhance its civil aviation sector’s capabilities.
