Around 102 Egyptian companies participated in the “Fruit Logistica” fresh produce trade show held in Berlin in February, where the commercial office in Berlin helped in concluding export contracts for Egyptian companies worth $130 million according to Trade Minister Tarek Kabil
Kabil said that the ministry is keen to support Egyptian companies participating in international fairs abroad, the matter that will help in opening new markets and customers for Egyptian exports.
he added that the Egyptian presence in the exhibition reflects the Egyptian business community’s keenness to enhance Egyptian-German trade and economic relations.
Head of the Egyptian Commercial Service Ahmed Antar said that the commercial office in Berlin has put a plan to promote Egyptian companies participating in the show and provided them with the needed information on the German market as well as marketing studies on the fruit and vegetable market in Germany.
Antar added that the office has coordinated with Misr Bank-Europe to provide financing to Egyptian companies that participated in the exhibition.
Fruit Logistica exhibition is considered to be the world’s largest for exporters and importers of agricultural products.
