Egypt imported 50,000 tonnes of steel with total cost of 365 million Egyptian pounds (around US$28 million) in October 2016.
Head of Building Materials Division at Cairo Chamber of Commerce (CCC), Ahmed Alzainy told Amwal Al Ghad Monday that Egypt’s importing processes declined 70 percent in October 2016 due to the continuous rise in dollar prices. Accordingly, the price of imported steel reached 7,300 pounds per ton.
On other side, the official announced that cement prices are ranging between 850-900 pounds per ton.
