Egypt inaugurates 30-bed ICU at Mansoura Chest Hospital

Egypt’s Deputy Health Minister Mohamed El-Tayeb and Dakahlya Governor Tarek Marzouk inaugurated a new 30-bed intensive care unit at Mansoura Chest Hospital on Sunday, the Health Ministry said in a statement.

The inauguration followed a meeting at the governorate headquarters to discuss efforts to strengthen Dakahlya’s healthcare system and coordinate ongoing upgrades across hospitals and primary care units, according to the statement.

Talks also addressed staffing needs and medical equipment shortages, as well as measures to ensure sustainable and high-quality service delivery in the governorate.

The meeting underscored the need for on-site performance monitoring and prompt action to resolve operational challenges, in line with the state’s broader plans to enhance healthcare infrastructure and patient satisfaction.

During the visit, officials inspected hospital departments, reviewed progress, and listened to patient feedback, with several visitors commending the availability of medicine, efficiency of services, and dedication of medical staff.

The ministry said the new unit and wider cooperation represent “an important step toward reinforcing provincial healthcare capacities while upholding the highest standards of quality and efficiency.”
