Egypt launches one health national strategic framework 2023-2027

Egypt’s Minister of Health and Population has launched One Health National Strategic Framework 2023-2027 on Sunday, as a joint roadmap for one health between the Ministries of Agriculture and Land Reclamation, and Environment.

The framework is a joint cooperation between the ministries of Health and Population, Agriculture and Land Reclamation, and Environment. The ministries also collaborated with World Health Organisation (WHO) and the United Nations Food and Agriculture Organisation (FAO).

The launched Framework recognizes the close connection between human, animal and environmental health, the ministry stated. Additionally, WHO estimations state 60 percent of reported infectious diseases globally are zoonotic.

The official press release explained the Minister presented Egypt’s vision and plan to implement the initiative. Abdel Ghaffar outlined the shared responsibility between all involved ministries and parties in implementing One Health scheme.
