Egypt, OECD discuss enhancing public governance, planning

Egypt’s Minister of Planning and Economic Development, Dr Rania Al-Mashat, met OECD’s Director for Public Governance, Elsa Pilichowski, to discuss their ongoing cooperation under the EU-funded project Support to Enhanced Administrative and Public Economic Governance in Egypt, the Egyptian Cabinet reported on Wednesday.

The project, running for three years, has helped Egypt implement key governance reforms, supporting Egypt Vision 2030 and the National Administrative Reform Plan.

Al-Mashat highlighted two major achievements: the OECD’s governance review of Egypt and the creation of the annual development planning guide. Looking forward, she aims to strengthen the implementation of Egypt’s General Planning Law, improve strategic policy planning, and deepen cooperation with the OECD to achieve real, tangible outcomes.
