Egypt’s stock exchange (EGX) ended in positive territory on Thursday, with the main index, EGX30 going up by 1.13 per cent, to 29,997.11 points.
The Shariah index, EGX33 rose by 0.53 per cent, to 3,120.12 points.
The SMEs index, EGX70 added 0.87 per cent, to 8,402.97 points.
The index, EGX100 index soared by 0.87 per cent, to 11,504.52 points.
The total market capitalisation reached 2,207,402,155,979 Egyptian pounds.
Egyptians were net buyers with a total of 20,418,162,892 Egyptian pounds. Meanwhile, Arabs and non-Arab foreigners were net sellers with a total of 1,547,405,776 Egyptian pounds and 18,870,757,115 Egyptian pounds, respectively.
Top gainers
- Shares of Gogreen for Agricultural Investment (GGRN.CA) jumped by 19.38 per cent, to close at the price of 1.540 Egyptian pounds a share.
- Shares of AJWA for Food Industries company Egypt (AJWA.CA) climbed by 11.15 per cent, to trade at the price of 116.100 Egyptian pounds a share.
- Shares of Tanmiya for Real Estate Investment (TANM.CA) gained 6.73 per cent, to the purchasing price of 3.330 Egyptian pounds a share.
Top losers
- Shares of Egyptians For Investment and Urban Development (EIUD.CA) plunged by 7.60 per cent, to close at 0.304 Egyptian pounds a share.
- Shares of Cairo Oils and Soap (COSG.CA) sank by 4.13 per cent, to close at the price of 0.395 Egyptian pounds a share.
- Shares of the Egyptian Modern Education Systems (MOED.CA) dived by 3.41 per cent, to close at 0.425 Egyptian pounds a share.
