Egypt welcomes foreign participation in giant national projects: Tatweer Misr CEO
Egypt’s government is keen on providing foreign companies all the facilitation and incentives needed so as to join its giant national projects, said chief executive at real estate developer Tatweer Misr on Friday.
A global leading company – which operates ports worldwide including three in Africa – expressed readiness to study investment opportunities available in Egypt, Ahmed Shalaby said on the sidelines of a door-knock mission to the UK, organised by the British Egyptian Business Association (BEBA).
This company is even in talks with the World Bank’s International Finance Corporation (IFC) for funding opportunities for understudy projects in Egypt, Shalaby added.
The mission aimed to discuss bolstering bilateral cooperation between Egypt and the UK during a three-day visit from November 27 to 29.
It encompassed Egyptian Minister of Finance Mohamed Maait, Minister of International Cooperation and Investment Sahar Nasr, and Transport Minister Kamel al-Wazir.
The mission also included Yehia Zaki, chairman of the Suez Canal Economic Zone (SCZone); and former deputy prime minister Ziad Bahaa El-Din as well as CEOs of major Egyptian companies.
